This relaxed and enjoyable bike tour makes the most of Perth’s comprehensive network of modern, well-maintained cycle paths, allowing you to focus less on traffic and navigation and more on soaking up the scenery.
The experience is suitable for both visitors and locals who want to see the city from a fresh perspective. Your knowledgeable guide sets a comfortable pace and shares stories, insights, and local knowledge throughout the journey, creating a bike tour that is as informative as it is enjoyable.
The fun begins at Mindeerup Piazza, the gateway to South Perth’s foreshore, beneath the watchful eyes of the striking giant frill-neck lizard and numbat public artworks. After a short safety briefing and an introduction to the route, we set off on a carefully curated ride designed to avoid major hills and busy roads. By keeping the route predominantly flat, we ensure the ride remains accessible, comfortable, and enjoyable for riders of varying ages and experience levels.
Cycling east toward the Causeway, we leave the urban skyline behind and pause to explore hidden wetlands that offer a glimpse of what the Swan River landscape may have looked like prior to colonisation. As we continue our ride, your guide will point out historical locations and explain their significance, while keeping an eye out for the abundant birdlife that inhabits these waterways.
Continuing along the river, you’ll see the iconic Matagarup Bridge and Boorloo Bridge, both impressive examples of modern design set against the natural curves of the Swan River. From here, the route leads into the striking Optus Stadium hub, before rolling into the charming inlet of Claisebrook Cove, a favourite local spot, where we stop for a relaxed café break.
The return journey continues through the lively waterfront precinct of Elizabeth Quay, where the city skyline and river converge. Here, your guide highlights Perth’s more modern and urban landmarks, including the distinctive Bell Tower, before completing the loop with a gentle ride across the Narrows Bridge, finishing back on the South Perth foreshore with sweeping views across the water to the city.
Our small-group guided tours and energetic narrative are all about connection rather than exertion. This experience prioritises nature, culture, and discovery over strenuous exercise, making it suitable for a wide range of ages and cycling abilities. The aim is for you to finish the ride feeling energised, informed, and with a genuine sense of accomplishment, having experienced Perth in a way few people do.
